Chicken Shift CPO
#257036 - 06/11/11 05:06 AM Attachment: cshift_panel_b.png 437 KB (18 downloads)

Per Mr. Do's request. The photo was pretty raw, so this is the best I could come up with. I don't have a font that's even close to this, and I was tempted to do balloon captions by the bugs that read, "This is supposed to be some kind of bug."

Dude... sweet!

1) I think the top is orange, fading into the yellow, like how the bottom is green, fading into the yellow.

2) CDR to the FTP when done, yes

1) You do not need to reply twice to the same thread to ask for the same thing. Second post deleted.

2) Control Panel Dimensions?

3) Any chance this can be scanned "straighter? Just taking a quick look at it... things aren't lining up right like they should, and that's me stitching manually. Is the panel warped/not flat?

If I'm guessing correctly on the approximate dimensions, you should be able to scan this whole thing in four scans: left edge of panel against long left edge of scanner; right edge of panel against long left edge of scanner; left edge of panel against short bottom edge of scanner, centered; right edge of panel against short bottom edge of scanner, centered.

(If it's bigger than I think it is, then it will take at least two more).

The scans needs to be straight to get things started correctly.

And yes... per your BYOAC post... of course it's inaccurate... it's based off a photo. It says it in the notes when you download the file; you can see that when you look at the ratings on the download page on my site.

Hey James long time since I've visited the mameworld forums how have you been ?... Sorry about the double post that wasn't my intention. Any ways the good news is I should have better scans for Chicken Shift CPO within roughly a week or so in addition to the translight / marquee (I'm not the one scanning them, I requested them since it a grail game for me and next to impossible to find). I'm in the process of restoring a Sente Sac1-b cabinet. I'll also have other sente artwork. But right now my focus is on chicken shift because that's one of my grail sente games.

just an update on this... today I got directed to better scans of the CPO in addition to the Chicken Shift Marquee... It's realllly rare artwork! I believe I have a volunteer.. but feel free to check out the updated scans:

downloads for scans here:

Disregard the "Control Panel (Old)" -

Marquee/

Again, I didn't scan these files I nearly requested these for my dedicated machine bally / sente sac1-b. Hope this helps others in the future as I've been looking for years and years.

Having the right measurements, this CPO would be really easy to recreate. You only have to vectorize one bug (to get the other ones you just have to flip it and change its color), the yellow chick and the two egg shells. The rest of the CPO are just lines and text

That depends on how accurate you want the end result to be. I've already started on this, and before any vectorizing, the scans themselves require a quite bit of un-distorting to copy accurately, as none of the parallel and perpendicular lines are actually parallel or perpendicular. Although, I'm crazy anal about stuff like this and will probably spend too much time making it as accurate as possible.

Also, that text will have to be recreated from scratch, I've found no font that matches it, not for lack of trying.

The font is this:

http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/linotype/itc-ronda/ronda/glyphs.html

It's not free but there are other ones you can download and modify:

http://www.fontyukle.net/en/1,ronda

Having the scanned CPO and some measurements, the parallel and perpendicular lines are not a main problem.

I know what you are talking about 'cause I have the same problem as you XD. I'm never happy at all with the final result I get, but I finally realize that the original artwork is unique and all I can do is trying to reproduce it the best way I can. There's only one masterpiece, the other ones are only reproductions

Good luck

You know, I used Myfonts "What the Font" to try to identify it, and it couldn't. But the good thing is, I have that font.

MrClean, can you provide the measurements Aioros has in his diagram?

I want this added to the Mr.Do! artwork page. Why because when I saw this control artwork then I realize that is a cool looking artwork there. Maybe it a good time to start adding the rest of the artworks. Control layout and everything that we see at front of us. Be good to use for the 1920x1080 screen or what ever the long screen size that everyone else uses. I already have a mount on the back of my screen. Just waiting on getting it to attach to something. Right now I nothing to hook it onto.

This is what I was talking about:

Maybe you would get a more accurate file if you trace it yourself instead of using the live tracer tool, but it would take more time. When you have such a small character, the differences between the original and the copy are minimal. Even in larger pieces, this kind of differences are almost negligible unless you put the original one next to the copy.

In the end, it's a matter of how precise you want to be without becoming you crazy during the design process.

Attached to this message you have the vector file if you want to use it

I most certainly do want it to be accurate including the half tones. I scanned in a ton of SENTE marquees / translights... trying to gather more and more SENTE art... right now my focus is on chicken shift and hopefully that takes priority because ,my SENTE sac1-b is going to be mainly kept as a chicken shift. Maybeee 3-4 exist in the US as dedicated machines that's it! This game is incredibly rare! I appreciate anyone contributing to all things Sente!

I don't have the exact dimensions for chicken shift panel as I don't have the control panel "yet" I might be getting an extremely scratched up one but at least enough art would be present to get more accurate dimensions but I'm not even sure I'm going to end up with it. I have a "Hat Trick" control panel and the overall dimensions are all the same inlay for the metal panel that sits on the sac1-b... I'm running late to work but I think it was 22.1''x8'' I emailed jibmums the dimensions quick measure. the marquees are the same for all games and I have like 10x different sente marquees....

For those that want to vector and contribute other sente marquees / translights see these files:
