I'm actually pretty surprised at how little coverage this has been given.
Honestly, I put this right up there with the first moon landing. I know it's our third successful mars rover but this time it was done in a way that was just over the top, balls out, "To boldly go" as it were, I mean come on the Sky Crane? Who the fuck thought up of that? That thing is so bad ass it's right out of the movies.
>Today, there is nothing left we as humans cannot accomplish.
That's true! Today we rove the surface of Mars, and I saw a picture of four people achieving a triple penetration... What else is there to stand in our way?

Can't wait for the 1600 x 1200 full resolution descent video. Unfortunately NASA said we'll have to wait a couple of months for that: "In the months ahead, as communications between rover and Earth become more robust, full-frame images 1,600 by 1,200 pixels in size, are expected to provide the most complete and dramatic imagery of a planetary landing in the history of exploration." Right now all we get is a 192 x 144 teaser...
IMO, here is the best image the rover has sent back as of this posting:
Curiosity is certainly a stellar accomplishment, but there are many,MANY things we as humans have yet (or just cannot) accomplish.Love your enthusiasm though
I'm just wondering how many of use were geeked out online and watching CNN on 4 July, 1997, when the Sojourner rover made contact and unpacked itself during the Pathfinder mission.
And I'm also wondering how the conspiracy theorists are going to claim that this didn't happen as well.
