Slowest game in mame now?

Benching me new rig. Forgot what I did before the new build but I wrote down 66fps max in prop cycle with stutters and drops below xx (can't remember). wrote down 57fps as max I saw MK4 at during the opening scene.
Now both are a buttery smooth 100% (where did fps go?) Unthrottling prop cycle ranged from 150% to well over 200%
I'm kind of surprised at the huge difference because my i7 920 was overclocked a bit to 3.2Ghz. My i7 4790 isn't overclocked and is only 3.6GHz.
WinSPR level went from 7.2 to 8.15 (disk score). CPU score is 8.4.
Windows 8.1
oh and the latest TombRaider on Ultimate (actually I don't think ultimate was available before I put the new card in, only ultra):
Code:
OLD New Min: 21.3fps 58fps Max: 36.9 60 (I'm sure it's throttled to my monitor's refresh) Average: 29.4 59.9

oops?
You've been here a year. I've been in this scene since '98. The subject may fit emuchat, but the content is me bragging about my new system and asking what the slowest game is so I can brag some more (and justify to myself the ridiculous amount of money I just spent upgrading)
If I use a different forum, I like to stay strictly on subject. This forum is for pretty much anything else (unless you get booted to the war room). Thanks.

Oh he's been here far longer than a year - it's the same guy who keeps getting banned as M.Valentine, mogli, Severance Tax, etc.

Actually I thought this would fit in PC Hardware, heh. I was considering making a similar thread there when I built my new PC a month ago... but I realized that it wouldn't make a difference (for me) because I wouldn't be able to test my old PC's performance (I kept getting heat issues that crashed the machine.)
The slowest MAME games I could think of when I built my PC... were the NeoGeo 64 games. This new PC ran SamSho 64 at like 10 FPS, I think. I didn't try the others. Even Daraku Tenshi runs normally now.

Speaking of mame benchmarking, why are those done with no video and no audio?
Wouldn't it make more sense to benchmark them with video and audio enabled?

Dolphin Blue it is... drops as low as 38% in attract mode. 72% when the Atomiswave logo pops up! It then drops to 50% and then into the 40's...
Average speed: 49.14% (89 seconds)
OTOH, on starsldr I get Average of 98.59% vice the 101%.
So.. again interesting. I seem to almost keep up with an i7 4770k overclocked to 4.8GHz.

It's a pure CPU/memory benchmark. Adding audio/video would make it a benchmark of I/O, depend on resolution, scaling settings, etc.

Jesus... steady %25 after I start playing a game. Is it relevant to bench a game that takes more than 90 seconds just to initialize?

The only benching worth anything is when a game is being played. Testing initializing time is useless and same with attract mode. The automatic tests could probably still find the most demanding games, but if you look at the benchmarks and then think to yourself if you buy that PC setup then you can play the games at that average fps, you're in for disappointment.

Here is what I get for pacman: Average speed: 12638.65% (89 seconds)
Does it matter if there is any faster?

None of this matters, but it's a fun way to waste time.

It's the only way.
The worst way is when someone else is wasting your time.

That's less than 50% faster than his. If you're talking about how much faster than someone else's it is, you need to take a ratio and subtract one.

Intel's averaged 7-10% improvement at the same clock for the last several generations.
920 was pre-Sandy Bridge, so there's 3 of those 7-10% bumps built into your upgrade. (920->Sandy Bridge->Ivy Bridge->Haswell).

There is no time to waste, not less that anyone can waste another's time, except insofar as anyone allows another to be on their time.
Of course, I never spend [my] time in wait at places playing games on my phone or anything. I watch and breath.
