ACT-Labs Light Guns and High Score

It's been a while and I'm out of touch with some of the changes. As I understand, IV/Play is the suggested route to use.
Does IV/Play support the old ACT-Labs light guns?
I also see that the high score saving was removed. Another post mentioned from last year mentioned a setting in the mame.ini file, but that doesn't appear to exist in the newer MAME.exe installations. I don't want to custom build using a diff file.
Can anyone provide a little assistance?
-Thanks-

IV/Play is my front-end for baseline Mame.exe; it supports whatever baseline does via its *.ini files. MameUI64 still exists and limps along on the kindness and charity of others. I just compile and release the build here.
Investigate the use of auto save states in baseline to retain your high-scores if you don't want the hacked in hiscore.dat support other derivatives offer.

I switched from ACT Labs light guns to the ArcadeGuns light guns because ACT Labs guns only work with the older CRT monitors. I believe the ACT Labs guns should still work with the latest MAMEUI since it only emulates a mouse anyway.
