flyers not displaying

Hi,
New user here. I'm having a problem with my flyers not displaying. Snaps and Cabinets work fine but Flyers display the generic image for all games.
My flyers.zip contains 4170 images totaling ~5.6gb.
I note that if I halve the size of my flyers.zip (say by removing flyers either named A-N or M-Z) then the remaining provided flyers (~2000 @ 2.8gb) display ok. Unzipping all 4170 flyers into the Flyers folder also works.
Am I hitting a known size limit that's preventing MameUI displaying such a large number of flyers?
Environment: Using Win7 Ultmate 64bit and runing MameUI64 0.159 (Feb 24 2015) from a network drive (Synology NAS) where the flyers are also stored.

Maybe 7-zip would work better?
