MAMEUI32 v0.164 Customize Fields is all messed up

Ohhh Robbbertooo... come out and playyyaay

In MAMEUI32 v0.164, the View > Customize Fields... is all messed up. When you try to remove or add whatever fields you want, it doesn't work... duplicate fields occur or they don't get removed, etc. It's a big ol' mess. Now since I like you, I'm going to give you the chance to fix this. And if you don't... well, you know what will happen

It doesn't fix the problem. When you make changes by adding or removing fields, nothing happens. You have to close the emulator and reopen it and then changes happen, but those changes also involve duplicate fields getting regenerated, fields getting removed, etc. It's a mess. It's hard to even fully explain. It's wacky.

You also must select Read-Only for MAMEUI.ini... otherwise it will get all messed up again once you close and reload the emulator. This bug sucks. Here, take this and kill it

And while you're at it...

The two "splitters" do not store their position on big screens (1920x1080). They work fine on smaller resolutions but it seems that the values are corrupt if your screen resolution is too high. On the next start the splitters are at a different position.

This is an old bug but it would be cool if you could fix it

Download MAMEUI 0.164.A (32 bit) from http://hbmame.1emulation.com/

But don't use you're old MAMEUI.ini, set it aside. Let the emulator create a fresh one for you. Then copy and paste the following section from the newly generated MAMEUI.ini into your old MAMEUI.ini:

column_widths 185,78,84,84,64,88,74,108,60,144,84,40,40
column_order 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
column_shown 1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,1,0

Using Robbert's latest release that I linked to above along with doing what I described will fix the problem that I had previously reported. You'll just have to customize the fields and columns to your liking. And it will now save properly.

I have a widescreen 27" LED monitor and I don't have any problems with the "splitters". With v0.164 everything was messed up... but it got fixed in v0.164a.

Interesting. I have a 32" Widescreen here and when I manually move the splitters between the gamelist and the picture to the left, next time I start MameUI it's back to the far right.

Same with the splitter between the folder list and gamelist. If I move it to the right, on next start it's on the left again.

I have deleted my MameUI.ini and tried from scratch, no change. It's also not write protected and I'm admin on this pc. Also tried to tweak around manually with the numbers behind

splitters 273,317

but could not find a good setting. It seems there is a borderline how far each splitter can be moved (I guess the numbers indicate pixel offset from the sides?) and when you come across this border it rolls over.

This happens since many versions of MameUI already, not only since 0.164. My resolution is 1920x1200.

I will attach two screenshots. The first one is after I adjusted the splitters, the second one after I restarted MameUI.

I have my monitor's resolution set at 1360 x 768. The highest I can set it at is 1920 x 1080. But I prefer it at the resolution I have since everything is bigger and I don't have to strain to read text. I've never tested MAMEUI at the higher resolution... I'll try it tomorrow when I get a chance to go on my computer.

And are you using MAMEUI 32-bit or 64-bit?

Hi Robbbert

I want to say its great frontend I ever use but I just notice some changes on it or bugs I don't know really :/

1- the background is white as I remember it was gray as the background in the background folder and now its not I have to choice it by my self again from background option

2- Did anyone got this problem or its only me it was working on the 163 but from 164 and onward it didn't I've tried to change the default game option and tried change something on it (put tick on cheat remove from another one .... etc) anything but whatever I do and then pressed ok and enter again to option everything return as it was before on both 32 and 64 ver. I also notice there is MAMEUI is not creating Default CFG anymore.
