A long list of famous (according to this article) people who lost their battle with life this year:

Celebrity Deaths in 2016: Some of the Many Famous Figures We Lost This Year

Miss Cleo is on the list- didn't remember that one

Reading through user forums I found Alan Thicke died two weeks ago too. He was an iconic 80's dad on sitcoms and some movies, yet I see no mention about him everywhere.

Just a bit above Carrie Fisher. Unless they spotted their goof and edited the article sine you've seen it...

They knew we were really thinking about Alan Rickman when we clicked on that...

The real Alan Thicke link

There are things I'd like to say about that phrase, but I'm not up to the challenge just now. Might come off as antagonistic. Or worse, optimistic.

What's missing from the list... new [Re: Qun Mang]
#362021 - 12/31/16 06:01 AM

... is all the names of people whose lives were cut short from hard-core drugs.

And keep in mind, especially A-listers, they like to down play that part unless it's brutally obvious, like with Prince. When first responders try to kick down the door, and an avalanche of used needles and empty heroine bottles is barricading the door shut... well... then that's going be a part of the press release. I know, Prince died of opioids... same family, different dealer.

Sad but true, but even Carrie Fisher was addicted to cocaine right up until the end. Do 60-year-olds have heart attacks? Sure, some, but cocaine addiction in her case couldn't have been helpful. She's gone, so why soil her name in the press. I get that.

George Michael, heroine. Died peacefully in his sleep the articles say, yes, overdosing on heroine. If Hugh Hefner were to die in the night, we'd all buy the whole "peacefully in his sleep" crap, but not a 53-year-old for shit sake. If a 53 year old dies in bed in the middle of the night, he's either been caught by a jealous husband, clutching at his own chest in agony, coughing up blood, or blitzed out of his fucking mind... but he's not peacefully dying in his sleep.

So at the same time, great opportunity to say, don't mess with hard drugs, people. You die. Heroine, cocaine, Meth. Fuck that!

Even Nancy Regan! Died freebasing crack cocaine while snap-chatting pictures of her cooch. Naw. On that one she was just old as dirt. So don't do dirt either. It's also bad for you, too.

It was odd phrasing, yes, and I suppose not really well thought out. I just meant that all of us will die at some point and for these people their time was in the year 2016. Nothing more than that.

I could have sworn it wasn't there when I checked, not even the picture. Maybe I mistyped "Allan" though. If he was known in Mexico for his role on "Growing Pains" and "Not Quite Human", I knew he must be known a lot more over there.

Just one L in his name (Alan), but as Tom pointed out the link to his news page points to Alan Rickman instead.

Thanks. That's pretty much what I expected:

So, yeah - while the doctor in question might not have known Fisher's health personally, I find it to be in reprehensibly bad taste to start casting aspersions on a dead woman's habits, especially considering how lucrative "coming forward" with a "first-hand account" would be for just about any jackass trying to make a buck.

Unless someone takes the "once an addict, always an addict" attitude towards things - which I can understand - suggesting that "she was an addict up to her death" just comes off as trying to smear a dead person, because after all, corpses can't defend themselves. Absolutely ghoulish, and the people responsible should be ashamed of themselves. But then again, shame seems to be both desperately needed and in rather short supply among many of the people who post here.

And as an odd side note, I believe that Wayne Rogers, AKA Trapper John, died on New Years Eve 2015...

Hot Lips, BJ, Hawkeye, Klinger & Radar better watch out this year!

I suppose Tyrus Wong, Bambi artist, doesn't count as a celebrity.

Didn't even hear about Andy Newman dying. Maybe when/if they announced it on the radio, I wasn't listening.

On 30 March 2016, it was announced that Andy Newman had died at the age of 73.

The fact that they contradict themselves between the url and subtitle before you even read the first word of the article should be enough for nobody to ever read TMZ again.
