Are you seriously drinking this? Because we're gonna get rowdy rowdy if you iz. I won't even have to beat you on account of the nil agave since it probably has enough caffeine to kill a small horse or cow.
So this dude Jess had his last day at work, 'cause he's off to form a startup with some friends and venture capital. We started drinking at work, as you do on a Friday, then headed off to a pub and drank some more.
Jess was dressed down. He decided it was a good idea to buy a case of Heineken and hail a cab, so he could go home and change into something that would be accepted at his favourite karaoke bar, the Pickled Possum. I was the only one who went along with him - the other guys all stayed back at the pub
So we headed off towards the Possum, but Jess was walking too slowly and trying to call people to convince them to come and join us. I thought I'd go in first and let him catch up. But when I got there, the proprietor was on the door, and he wouldn't let me in, because I'm friends with this guy whose brother has repeatedly attempted hostile takeovers of the business. What a gimp - it's not like I can steal his precious business if he lets me in.
So I went off and found Jess again, and we got to the Possum again. At this point, some Pakistani bouncer was on the door, and he let us in fine. Apparently he's not aware of my blacklisted status. We head up to the bar and Jess buys five bourbon and cokes. He takes one and heads off to get on the list to sing.
So I'm left at the bar with five bourbon and cokes, and I don't even like bourbon and coke. Then some fat blonde chick with a Pommy accent materialises and starts getting into me. I tried offloading the drinks onto the girl, but she didn't like bourbon and coke, either. So I just drank it myself. At some point, one of the other guys from work showed up, and seemed to be getting into the scene. I don't know what he thought about my chubby fashion accessory.
Eventually the proprietor found me, and kicked me out of the joint. I asked him straight up if he was kicking me out because I'm friends with the dudes who want to buy his business, and he replied in the affirmative. I managed to get a cab home, and the meter came to $25.80, but the driver didn't have change for a $50 note, so I had to pay with a credit card. I was probably past the point of signing, and it took me two attempts to get the PIN right.
That sounds like some nights I've had except instead of getting kicked out for being friends with an asshole's brother I was kicked out for being friends with a guy who fought with a bouncer.
Mixing drinks up sounds fun until the next morning. Seems to make the hangover happen or makes it worse.
I've only ever bought that stuff once and it was a night where I bought a few different types of beer. I don't really remember much about the taste. I'll give it another shot.

I didn't get a hangover - I just woke up still drunk. Doesn't really matter today as the only thing I had to do was vote in the state election. Preferential system, so I worked backwards starting by giving the arsehole I hate the most the highest number and working down to the person I hate the least. But with the selection of candidates offered, it was damn hard working out which one I hate more than the others.

Dewars isn't bad, I tend to go with J&B for blended scotch. The Fidditch was bought for a memorial (Actually, more of an old fashioned wake). I raise a glass in memory of a great man every time I have some of it.
Your spinner has been accepted. Are those competition Happs? I thought I would like them but after a while the long ass throw has started to irritate me. It's good for Mortal Kombats and a few others but sucks for bullet hells so I ordered the Sanwa stick types that come in Egret II's etc.

They're Ultimarc sticks (whatever they were called before the Magsticks). The spinner is a tornado spinner (don't think they're in business anymore) and the trackball is Happs.
The sticks don't have much throw which is good for both fighting games and shmups.

Well, this is kind of an odd night. I bit my lip hard when I was leaning on my hand and my elbow slipped off the edge of the table at work and caused me to bite it. Bled a bit and has gotten quite puffy and hurts when I do anything.
Got home, and some strawberries I had bought last week have started to lose their grip on being edible. I also have some mid-shelf bourbon that's not all that great on its own, but worthy of mixing. So I took the strawberries, pulverized them in a blender, strained out the juice and mixed it in with the bourbon. Crushed up some ice and mixed it in. Then I went and took some lidocaine gel and applied it all over my lip to cover the wound area in a jelly of sorts, and also numb it. As I drink this strawberry bourbon (not bad, but not something I'd go out of my way to get ingredients for to make again), the gel has kind of dissolved all over my mouth. My mouth is numb and I'm drooling like I have a few extra chromosomes.
I figure by the time the numbness goes away, I'll have blacked out from drinking this strawberry stuff then going to the straight up bourbon.
I guess I may have put too much of the lidocaine gel on my sore lip. Took a shit the next day and I swear my ass end was numb. Had I known that was going to happen, I'd have eaten a butt-ton of jalapeno laced food.
This thread can be like those spammy 'what are you listening to now?' topics where everybody posts what they're drinking right at that moment, everyday, or whenever they drink something else.
And nobody ever really reads the other posts, it's just for post count.
Anyway. I did have some junk with aspartame in it. That's made from phenylalanine which is the same stuff that's in moonshine which can cause blindness. So we'z good here.

I'm not a chemist, but I believe it's the methanol in moonshine that makes you go blind, not phenylalanine.

Last night while eating ribs/fries/coleslaw and watching HTTM on Netflix. I enjoyed the running George McFly arm gag and the random "I want my $2" thrown in for good measure.
Tonight I'm drinking a mixture. Started out with a couple of 12 ounce Guinness Cans, then realized that having depression blows badly so I needed to get further drunk. I then cracked out the Tanqueray Gin and mixed it with some Schwepps Ginger Ale. Tomorrow's gonna suck, but tonight sucks a tiny bit less.
Watching Alice In Chains Unplugged on my PS3 after finishing up the Pearl Jam and Nirvana Unplugged shows. Will probably throw in a God of War movie afterward, or porn. Most likely porn.

It actually is the methanol as your liver converts that to formaldehyde which makes you blind. Phenylalanine is simply a normal Amino Acid. However, there is a small percentage of the population which can not metabolize phenylalanine properly and it therefore ends up building up in the body. The body tries to get rid of it by converting it to a ketone and ketones in the body are VERY bad as they cause the overall pH of the blood to lower. Phenylketonuria is the condition where the body can't metabolize phenylalanine properly, so it converts it to a ketone and passes it through the urine. Hence why anything that breaks down into phenylalanine is listed as a warning on food products. Aspartame is metabolized into phenylalanine so it is always listed as a standard warning in anything containing it.

Tonight, err........... last night, I was drinking lots of Guinness and Long Island Iced Teas. I don't feel good right now. Will be working from home tomorrow. Ran into some people who made my life hell in high school while at the local pub. Found out their lives are hell. Mine is fine and that made me feel really good. Glad to hear those fuckers are having a rough time. Meanwhile, I had a great night and have good company with me right now.
