MAMEUI - tips, tricks and other nice info not showing

Okay, so I really enjoy MAMEUI. One of the nice aspects is that you can get lots of game information (programmers, tips etc.) on the righthand pane. However, that has recently disappeared and not sure how to get it back. I have the history.xml in the 'dats' folder. I can see the 'GENERAL MACHINE INFO' information (ROM names etc,) - just no history.
What combination of the 'View' and 'Options' menu do I need to show this?
It's driving me nuts!!!!

A couple of tips. First, go To Options > Interface Options and make sure the pull-down of "Show History on Tab" is not set to None. Next, this next tip sounds dumb and doesn't make sense, but is key - Go to View > Show Pictures and make sure you have every option checked EXCEPT History otherwise it doesn't work.

As Robbbert mentioned, the maintainers recently changed the format of the history distribution to xml which MameUI (and IV/Play) doesn't support currently. The site is still providing the old style history.dat for each release at least for now.
