For example - Alien Syndrome already has "official" artwork. If you give us your Zip, then copying it to Mame would over-write the official artwork, and it would be lost. Instead create a single Zip, containing both the original art and your own. Job done!
As Vaughn suggested, before uploading your bezel artwork zips, check the Official MAME Artwork link to see if there is already existing artwork for it. If there is, be sure to include that artwork inside your uploaded zips.
Also, if you plan on making more new artwork, I would suggest/prefer making it for games that don't have any artwork available for it. There are still hundreds of good games that don't have any artwork... so it would be nice to have artwork made for them, instead of games that already have artwork. Know what I mean? But that's just my opinion of course.
