I tried to widescreen the original Bezels by not touching the original (not possible all the time, but Commando/Mario Bros and the other bezels that had colour art were easier to extend out further than the bezels with comic art Ikari/Vigilante)
All I have done in most cases is obvious to the observant, I cut the bezel in half and then either placed the bezel to the outside edge or to the inside edge, leaving strips up either side to fill.
And now that I have taken a very close look at the bezels this time around I have actually corrected some very old typos from Instruction Cards and little things like that in the artworks that up until now, I am going to assume, have never been spotted/corrected before. So that's a nice thing to have done.
I will need help from the wider community to find hi-res art for some bezels that don't have much, R-Type, logos everywhere, No CPO's to find, even blurry ones that I am willing to replicate are not on the net, No bezel ever existed for it, so I'm struggling with that one.
R-Type 2 has a bezel, but only a cocktail version, no official bezels for either of them I am afraid. I found an original Bermuda Triangle Bezel picture on the net years ago, very small, but I used it for my version as there isn't another version in existence anymore.
Son Of Phoenix, Argus, Asterix, Athena, Outrun, Pinball Action, No Bezels, No art, some logos online, that's it. I had an Instruction Card in SOP in an earlier version but I have now found out it was Phoenix's Inst Card. so no Inst Card for SOP.
Vigilante and Space Invaders are killing me, have been on them both for days with no progress. In most cases you can scale up the original artworks in proportion only a little bit if their are comic book art elements like Rastan.
I actually found a massive Japanese Rastan version of the CPO with the lizards, which fit perfectly with the Bezel and like Commando it's like I just opened the artwork window up so to speak, so we can see stuff we never saw before, that's how I treated a few of them.
But my favourite Widescreen conversion success is Asteroids, finally did a version with no kink in the bezel like original had, while I understand most will prefer the kinked version, I just wanted to see if I could unkink it.
