DONKEY KONG layout for M.A.M.E (based on Nintendo of America 1981 cabinet)

Hey again !
Here comes another cool UHD layout. This time it's for the game « Donkey kong » on M.A.M.E. Like usually, I used visuals in very high resolution from arcadeartwork's website.

My goal in each of my layouts is to obtain the same ambiance of the real cabinet. I watch many photos of the real cabinet and learn the history of the machine to reproduce the same colours (particularly the sides of the cabinet), the same graphics of the original first version of the cabinet etc.

This time I rebuilded the horizontal instructions artwork totally to make a vertical version. I really cared about keeping the original feeling with the red border (and Kong). There are 2 instructions artworks on this machine, one is vertical on the control panel and another one is horizontal between the bezel and the control panel

The round sideart on the right with Kong was not easy to find in a useable way. That's the best I found, it looks fine even in 4K. On the left side you can see the princess coming from the control panel (who is useless and not present on this artwork) sized, corrected and cleaned.

The light blue color is precisely the same as the real cabinet's sides.Even the yellow/white lines at the bottom of the layout's sides comes from the front part of the real control panel.

I used only elements of the real cabinet, I think it's important to give the same cool eighties visual style we had when viewing the original cabinet in arcades.

I find very cool to have all the instructions on-screen, it give a greater will to try to casual players instantly. When viewing the instructions they think the game is easy. Ahah, it SEEMS easy, it's a fact. (I'm so bad playing "Donkey kong", very far from Steve Wiebe)

Okay, I talk too much then... Install it and play Donkey kong and remeber it's only playable with 4-way stick ( not 8 ).

^{Installation instructions for newbies :}
- Ensure you're using mame layout version 2. Verify it by editing another « default.lay » from the zip file of one of your working layout to be sure.
- Replace (or add) the « dkong.zip » file in your « /Mame/artwork/ » folder.
- Start M.A.M.E then launch the game « Donkey Kong »
- Press the « Tab » key and go to « video » section
- Chose « NOIR Homeplaying FullHD » configuration and ensure « bezel » is enabled.
- Exit the M.A.M.E configuration menu
- Enjoy !

This Layout is designed for homeplaying on very large screens but should fit perfectly on modern TV, HD and UHD (4K).

Mod it and convert it as you like ! I hope you'll enjoy it.
