Weird, I'm pretty sure that's never happened to me. It almost sounds similar to the phenomenon known as night terrors.
I've also never been able to lucid dream. I think a lot of time I'm at least partly aware that the dream is not real, but I don't have the presence of mind to take control of the situation. In fact, most of my dreams involve struggling with the situation: If I have to drive a car, my feet get tangled in the pedals. If I have to go somewhere, a million things will prevent me from getting out the door on time. The worst is when I have to tell someone something important and my mouth just refuses to form the words. Pretty annoying, really.
