It's all true, and in a typical home studio setup it doesn't make a bit of difference. Maybe on an ancient, underpowered machine, or if you're pushing the CPU to the limit with giant, orchestral softsynth projects, but for 10-20 tracks, a few softsynths, and some plugins, USB 2.0 works just fine. Crackles and dropped samples are far more likely to be due to bad drivers or flakiness on the host side.
