A perl or php script to parse MAME listxml into a sql file?
#221470 - 05/08/10 12:37 AM

I want to keep all the games into a mysql database. I don't know much about programming with xml, so if anyone could tell me where can I find a script that can parse Mame's xml ouput and convert it into a sql file it would be very appreciated.

cutebutwrong, who runs MAWS, may be able to help with this. Perhaps you could try PM'ing him.

You can definitely do it with the xml2info utility...

...but you'll have to modify the XSL file to output the data in whatever format you want.

Currently, the XSL file that it ships with converts MAME XML to the old "listinfo" format.

I haven't tried it with the latest version of MAME, I assume the XML output from MAME hasn't change significantly.
