Hmm... Since looking at the GBA in MESS, I've wondered why Backwards compatability boards/systems don't seem to have that option in MESS/MAME. Probably a good reason why there isn't, but here's my perfectionist mind speaking.

Based on the screenshots you posted, does this mean that Faster Than Speed is now emulated or still in the stages of preliminary just like the rest of the naomi and atomiswave games? It always hard time tell since some naomi games and atomiswave are working but still flagged as "Game Not Working"?

backward compatibility works already for gameboy/gbcolor, for neo geo pocket (b&w and color versions) and for wonderswan (b&w and color versions).
in gba the compatibility is obtained by an additional CPU and we would need to switch the main cpu depending on the cart inserted (iirc, this is not possible at this stage).

It's emulated, but you can't play it (no steering wheel hookup).
