0.144 nvram change...just curious

Hi all,
Just noticed that the nvram structure has changed. Looks like each game will have it's own named folder with a generic .nvram file. Are all of my current nvram files garbage now or can I save any of them by renaming them to nvram and creating a named folder for it? I guess I'm thinking about the games that I have gone into F2 and made volume changes (Midway games mostly). Also I had a custom nvram file for UMK3 that unlocked all of the hidden characters.
Thanks for the update MAME team!

Yes, it will work if you create a folder and rename your old .nv file to nvram (course you coulda just tried that and seen what happened. It woulda either worked or not. That's how I found out)

For games with only 1 NVRAM device (which is a large majority of them), you can just rename and move the existing file. Things get hairier on games with more than one; it'll write out multiple files in that folder and there's no easy way to split the old-style .nv.
