Hi!
I was wondering if there is any way to generate hardware lists from MAME? I have seen old lists, where you can see soundchips, cpu's and graphics chips. So I can see what games that use the same stuff.
I would like to run some detailed statistics on this.
Of course I could go through the source code by hand. But I'm a bit lacy.

you just have to run MAME with -lx and parse the xml output. the entries you are interested in are the nodes

Thanks! I found out yesterday. Generated a huge file, over 92Mb. I have to find a way to make a flat database file of it.
