Setting MAME to run at a specific resolution
#313088 - 08/19/13 05:44 AM

Hi Guys,

I have a Kortek 27" KT-2914F arcade monitor in my cabinet. I've been running my Windows desktop at 800x600 which also displays my HyperSpin frontend at 800x600.

I'm assuming that the MAME.ini is set to run games at whatever the default Windows resolution is set at if nothing has been changed in the MAME.ini. What I would like to test is running MAME at 640x480.

Is there a specific setting in the MAME.ini that allows the user to force a specific resolution for MAME to run in? If so, could somebody tell me which line of the .ini controls that, and what information I would need to change in the .ini?

Thanks,
Jason

Look for the "resolution" line in your ini and set it to 640x480, or -res 640x480 from the command line.
