No metal cage has ever been used on CAVE CV1000 hardware, and in fact wasn't even used on all their PGM games.

Err, seriously, if there's a problem like this it'd be great if someone actually told me...

I need what was going on and what was being clicked etc., this is the first I know about it,

Can you expand a bit, obviously I only go on what I'm given.

If you're talking about the shot at the top, that was the crate I found when searching about cv1000d when it was first announced/unboxed, so if you've got better/more accurate pcb pics of what they're normally like then great.

Your pcb pics for CV1000B and D are fine, just the metal case shouldn't be there.

http://www.world-of-arcades.net/Cave/cave.htm

Is a good source. That metal case was only ever used with their first PGM hardware game, DOJ (and DOJ Black Label). Their 2 later PGM games didn't use it and had every marking on the board and chips that referred to IGS sanded out because they were embarrassed that their games were manufactured by a Chinese company. At least that is the rumor as to why. With the cased-in DOJ they figured people wouldn't open it up I guess. The case had a Cave logo sticker over the screw to deter people from opening it up.

Happens to me too. If I click a System16 result in a Google or DuckDuckGo search I get a 403 forbidden error. I have to go to System16 and click through the links.

I've had this happen too. It's clearly some sort of anti-leech protection that's going screwy...

OK, I have a pretty strict filter going on due to the issues I was having with people leeching the site and causing my hosting company to fire warning shots across my bow.

I'll have a look and see if I can figure out what's going wrong (it doesn't seem to do it for me) as that sounds pretty dire, but to give you some idea why I did it I'm very much skirting along the edge of what's allowed on a shared server in regards to CPU load.

And before someone says about using a dedicated server, the site makes no money and the banner ad just about pays for the existing hosting with a bit of personal input from me, dedicated servers are teh expesiveness...

Checked and double checked, can't find anything like that on the server or my client?

You sure it's nothing being injected client side on your machine? The "last updated" dates for the php and associated files are from a year or so ago and are clean, so pretty sure it's not the site...

Any specific page? I couldn't find the word Viagra or cheap in the main page's source... perhaps it's your computer that is infected with adware. I suggest you run both Spybot S&D and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware.

and shame on you if you have any type of toolbar installed in your browser.

FYI, "Psyon" has been confirmed by a former Konami employee to be a typo. Apparently that made it into print once and they've been mortified ever since. The correct name is "Python", as part of their "systems named after snakes" series (Cobra, Python, Viper).

And yes, "Psyon" sounds cooler, I know

Psyon 2 may sound cooler but I still find it sheer laziness they just stuck a PS2 with case into a metal box, at least Namco and such made it look custom!

Oh, I noticed on a few konami pages that the systems use flash cards to hold the game data when they don't (such as Konami Firebeat)

It's a stock PS2 with the stock ethernet/HDD setup, yup. But it was cheap and effective, and the protection is pretty clever given the general stockness of the setup.

I did one DuckDuckGo search and one Google search, and successfully clicked through a result in each. I'll let you know if I get a problem again.

Go to system16.com and to the very bottom of the page

I just checked in Firefox on my Win7 box and it isn't there. I think it really is you. Admittedly I'm using AdBlock+ and Ghostery, so it could be the ads doing something weird to you, but I don't think Sixtoe's been hacked.

Yeah, I'm really confused, I managed to find a historic google cache with it.

At a push the only thing I can think of is that the server side virus scanner picked it up and killed it and restored the old files? Not sure, it's all a bit peculiar...

That can't be that as i still have the line.

As Matty said, perhaps the ad system is hacked on some localization, but it would be strange as it's google adsense, isn't it?

Other possibility, you all have a adblocker and it removes the line from your sight eventhough it's here in reality. (i don't have any ad blocker).

Just tried in Konqueror with no extensions, just behind corporate proxy, and I don't get the line. Then I tried it on my Android phone ona mobile network, and I still don't see it. There's something wrong on your end.

Not on MY side as i don't think i have enough power to alter the google cache

Well, it leaves the possibility of the ad server being hacked (probably for the french localization)... So nothing can really be done about it.

Doesn't look like it's restricted to just French:

How weird, it's definitely in the Google Cache for the November 21, 2013 archive.
