For me it's Spellsinger and Western Shooting from Art & Magic.
Also, let's not forget Marble Madness 2 Marble Man.

I would have to say "Bouncer." But there are a large number of other games out there that various people are fervently hoping will be dumped someday:

- Atari's protos "Danger Express," as Phil has mentioned, and "Akka Arrh" (among others);

- Arcadia's "Aaargh!";

- Shinkai's "Eek!", one of the last remaining undumped original games on "Pac-Man" hardware;

- Stern's "Journey";

- Sente's "Moonquake";

- the Capcom CPS-2 proto "Galum Pa!";

- Data East's "Mole Hunter" and any of the remaining DECO cassettes that can be rescued before they go bad;

- PSE's "Desert Patrol";

- Susilu's "Ms. Pac-Man Twin";

- Sunsoft's proto "Punky Doodle" (which, despite all my efforts to get one of the co-creators to dump it, is still to my knowledge moldering away undumped in a storage unit somewhere in California);

- and pretty much any of the remaining undumped original games from the 70s and early 80s by Sega, Irem, Nichibutsu, and (especially) Taito.

There is of course also the never-released "Ms. Gorf," which I still have faint hope will be recompiled and reconstructed someday, and gregf's beloved EM shooter "Wild Gunman" by Nintendo, whose reels and electronics, etc., need to be preserved. Unfortunately, as time has gone on, copies of undumped games have become ever harder to locate, and when they do turn up, all too frequently either they have suffered data loss or their owners are asking thousands of dollars for them (or both). Please donate to the Dumping Union if and when you can!

My personal Holy Grail is going to be different from everyone else's. I've never played it and have no idea what it looks like. It might not even be any good. However, back in the day when I ran what was then called the Dumping Project and eBay sniping sites were relatively new and I didn't trust them, it was the one ultra-rare game that I lost the auction for because, while waiting to place a bid on the only PCB for it that I had yet seen (or have ever seen) with moments remaining in the auction, my computer crashed...and the board vanished into the depths of a Japanese collector's hoard, never to be seen again. I deeply yearn for another copy to someday surface and be dumped so that I can stop kicking myself about that. That game would be "El Fin del Tiempo" ("The End of Time") by Spanish company Niemer. Sigh.

BTW, I didn't include either "Crazy Otto" or "Marble Madness 2" in my list because both of those have actually been dumped, but the dumps haven't been shared.

The Bouncer gets my vote.

For personal choices, the various "Moon" games from Nichibutsu and Taito's Space Cyclone...

What is this bouncer you speak of. I demand it show it's face. (I searched YouTube to get a peek, but no dice except this crappy grainy short clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ySvPV3UjuE)

So does anyone know of a video clip of the game that is in decent quality?

My new must-dump below.

Moving on from Polybius. Every time I go to dump that game, I wake up in Tuscon naked and surrounded by dead hookers.

I've earned the right to say never. If it still existed in cab form it would have surfaced by a braggart by 2014. There's a .00000001% chance the pcb is in an attic but even if so the roms are past their data holding date. Beyond fool's odds. It will never happen.

Not on the Undumped wiki because there's nothing to dump, just reels and films and such to scan. Maybe I'll put it there at some point.

You're right!! It even uses some sound samples from Guardians Of The Hood and even some of those trashcans are the same!!

Also, the text fonts are the same and I can see one of those enemies doing the Double Spin Kick move that Ty uses in Pit-Fighter as his special move!!

LOL, I have been trying to resist replying to this thread for ~2 weeks now ....

People are probably sick to death of this ol' record .... but, I'm still searching for Lunar Lander on Steroids and Choplifter 1987.

I was going to link to old threads here, but they are gone ....

So, I have linked to PDFs of 2 threads I started about these games over at Aussie Arcade Forums. (I have linked to PDFs of the threads to save people having to create an account and register at Aussie Arcade - which you have to do before you can read anything).

  1. http://moosevalley.fhost.com.au/download/Choplifter_1987_version__Aussie_Arcade_Forums__15-Jan-2009.pdf

  2. http://moosevalley.fhost.com.au/download/Lunar_Lander_on_Steroids__Aussie_Arcade_Forums__15-Jan-2009.pdf

I very nearly released a simulator for Lunar Lander on Steroids about 3 years ago (?) .... got the vector landscape scrolling exactly as I remember it, etc, just had to finish the ship crashing explosions (vector destruction), and a few other bits and pieces. But then stuff IRL hit me .... *Cough* cancer *cough*

Anyway, I'm still searching for these 2 .... These 2 are very much my holy grails for dumping, preservation and emulation.

Ridge Racer Full Size (with the actual car) would probably be a difficult beast to dump (because there are so few of them and because buying one would be super-expensive even discounting its rarity).

That said, if it IS ever dumped, I wonder who will be the first to wire it up to an actual car (and what car they would use as their sacrifice)

Sega Rail Chase the Raid would be even harder to dump, its rarer, bigger and likely more expensive than Ridge Racer Full Size.

*sigh* that webpage makes me nostalgic for netscape and the days I'd go to the library to access the internet.

Anyway, I'm wondering how that plays. The first thing that comes to mind is not being able to get past the other player, so you'd have to be careful to not run into each other -else, you could get ghosted.

ETA: LOL, maybe not. Players would have their characters meet up to see them kiss.

As you can see in the attract, each one can pass over the other without problems...

we already have Pac-Man with 2 simultaneous players in MAME. it's in Galaxy Games StarPak 2 [galgame2]:

also, Google Pac-Man can be played with 2 simultaneous players (just press Insert Coin twice).

along with 2-player Pac-Man in Galaxy Games StarPak 2 [galgame2], there's even 2-player Ms. Pac-Man:

so we have all combinations:

1. Pac-Man + PacMan in Galaxy Games StarPak 2.
2. Ms. Pac-Man + Ms. Pac-Man in Galaxy Games StarPak 2.
3. Pac-Man + Ms. Pac-Man in Google Pac-Man.

I don't think anyone's mentioned old Nintendo games yet (aside from the film reel games). I've always thought Monkey Magic looked cool.

http://mamedev.emulab.it/undumped/index.php?title=Monkey_Magic

I vaguely remember someone saying Computer Othello was in MAME-friendly hands, but as far as I can tell, it's still undumped.

My two cents... new [Re: Roman]
#340061 - 05/15/15 08:29 PM

Now that NY Warriors (Delta Command), Aaagh!, Manhattan and Angler Dangler have turned up, here's my personal wish-list in no particular order:

Bouncer
Vertigo
Full version of Turbo Sub
Eeekk!
Cutey Fatty
Black Widow (Taito)
Mrs. Dynamite
AIM
Missile Command (prototype version that drives the marquee lights)
Monkey Magic
The Tower (DECO cassette)
Flashboy/DECO Kid
Conquest (Journey)
Toggle (Sente) (Full version, if it exists)
Hammer Away (English version)
Burble
Kreepy Krawlers (Programmer says it was completed)
Battlestar (vector)
Scramble (vector)
Oops (vector)
Vampire
Hovercraft
Zool
Rolling Star Fire
Limbo
Fire and Forget II
Snapper (Exidy) (supposedly it was a full complete game, it just site tested poorly)
Mole Hunter
Hovercraft
Surfer
Team Hat Trick
Atomic Castle (laser disc)
Beavis and Butthead
Gremlins

And the obligatory mention of Marble Madness II, Missile Command II and Akka Arrh.

I haven't seen any marquee piece available for Angler Dangler so I guess that is still on your list.

I will say Bouncer is the holy grail of the wanted video arcade games, but for a while, I was also putting PSE's Knights in Armor along in that same category since for many years nothing was around for Knights in Armor other than the usual flyer.

And then a couple years ago I was able to buy a photocopy of Knights in Armor paperwork and scanned and uploaded items on emuchat and also uploaded scans of the instruction decals over to artwork forum. No one has been able to find the matching fonts yet, so Knights in Armor instruction scans are still there somewhere on artwork forum waiting to be completed.

In early 2014, someone was selling Atari Crossfire cab and PSE Knights in Armor on ebay. While Atari Crossfire is emulated and playable in DICE, there may be a chance that early preliminary emulation can be done with Knights in Armor since I do have logic schematics for Knights in Armor. It might be possible to have gameplay emulated with graphics figures being only square pieces since graphics roms would still be missing (ie: not dumped). One rom contains only images of knight and the second rom stores images of horse. That appears to be it for Knights in Armor because of not seeing any other roms used for storing gameplay data etc. That is why I believe Knights in Armor could be partially emulated.

You mentioned Knights in Armor exactly 10 times in Your post (I've counted !) - U really, really, really love that game

OT :

We still need REdump of Danger Express !
Also, my personal (partial) holy grail would be Protection PIC of Donggul Donggul Haerong, so the last game in crystal driver can be played in MAME.

Q. Is there any way of using simulation of officeye's Protection PIC (another game in the same driver) to make donghaer playable ?

P.S. For those of You who don't know what game is Donggul Donggul Haerong - It's a nice WonderBoy clone (NOT a classic clone, but a full blooded game !) with a manga-like themed gfx :

I don't think Bouncer exists anymore so it can't really be the grail game (to me).

>I don't think Bouncer exists anymore so it can't really be the grail game (to me).

Unfortunately I will have to agree although I still like to believe maybe it is out there somewhere not yet found.

At least there have been unexpected successes in the past such as the Stern's Moonwar prototype along with several others. My non-cpu favorite two are Atari Crossfire and Allied Leisure's Zap (to eventually be emulated) because I have only seen the game names on various sites and never saw any cab photos (or parts and pieces for that matter on ebay etc) and also no flyers printed. That is why I never thought they actually existed until first seeing a non-working Zap cab on an ebay listing years earlier and then getting actual paperwork of the two games a few years ago. What did help is the fact neither use any roms (all ttl) so that is one less concern when trying to get games emulated.

At least Crossfire now runs in DICE and Zap will eventually get there.

Heh, but actually it was the opposite when first seeing the game in 1976. I only recall seeing it once. Read old posts from May 2012 to see my opinion of the game when describing it in 1976.

The PSE game that I really enjoyed playing in arcades is PSE's Desert Patrol. The thing about Knights in Armor is the love of the 'challenge' of trying to find anything of parts about the game besides the flyer. And one significant part found is the paperwork that is needed to determine how the game operates.

With schematics found, it now provides a fighting chance that the game can be partially emulated for now. The roms being added later will be the completion.

The rom hardware chip types and their location on the pcb is currently documented in the source code along with Game Tree (another undumped game).

http://git.redump.net/mame/tree/src/mame/drivers/pse.c

I also uploaded the instructions sheets in December 2013 in case anyone was able to match the fonts exactly so the instruction cards can be preserved. So far no one has been able to find exact font type used with Knights in Armor instruction card.

The reason why this is being done now is because when the games were sold to arcades or operated by vendors back then, the instruction cards were considered disposable so after a card is used, it would usually get thrown away rather than saved and reused later.

This would happen after an operator adjusted the game settings. It would be ideal if we knew what all the options and settings are and that can't be done if all the instruction pieces are discarded. That's why it is important saving instruction card pieces as well as the roms of the game.

>Also, my personal (partial) holy grail would be Protection PIC of Donggul Donggul
>Haerong, so the last game in crystal driver can be played in MAME

It might be doable, but it could be awhile just like Raiden II being not playable for some time until 2014.

Aw right. Very old posts thread bump week. *kidding*

I'll be doing same thing a bit later with 2015 PSE Bazooka thread since recent stuff
has been appearing lately since 2015 regarding PSE coinop games.

>Has Ms.Pacman Twin(Susilu) been dumped yet?

I don't believe this has been found yet. At least Tatsumi TX-1 .V8 has been found and
partly emulated...maybe fully emulated, but who knows when that work will be added in MAME source code.
