Ask this person, they did it. Looks like you skooch (is that even a word?) out past the ledge and then jump? Unless you need to buy something from the dude in the shop to give you that ability.

If you're talking about what I think you're talking about... (I'm at work, not much time to scrutinize)

Simply, your character has a box around it. How far over an edge can you get before you fall off? After that point is the edge of this invisible box. From there you should be able to make the jump.
edit2: I know that's not explained perfectly, but it should make sense.

Explained quite well !
It's not a challenge at all - just stand on the edge as far as You can and press (simultaneously) UP+LEFT+JUMP, You should be on the platform on the left side at no time collecting those goods

I tried exactly that. In fact I explained the weird controls in the review. You have to hit up then jump button and then over to the side. Otherwise you just do a normal less higher jump. It's a strange and awkward combination. To this day I still can't make the jump using my arcade controls.
I'll give it another try next time I play but I am moving on to other games for now.
