I don't remember the name of it. I do remember a three headed dragon flying trying to hit something. Probably not the same sprite of the dragon. Might been a video game. Just random a thought about it.

I wouldn't worry about it. It long time ago.

No, you're right... Did you mean Dragon Spirit? It certainly reminds me of it, but I don't recall a boss that looked like that. (The player character could gain up to three heads, but it's smaller.)

Level 7's boss in Gradius 3 is also clearly inspired by Ghidorah.

It seems to move like Exerizer's dragons, maybe your memory did a trick that way...

That is it. That prove me wrong about having the three heads. That what I remember. All came back on my memory.

Hmmm. Added it: http://mamedev.emulab.it/undumped/index.php?title=Star_Attack_%28Hiraoka%29

Hiraoka history is very weird. I don't have time to dig it up right now, but they've been seen credited in US copyright records with classics like Phoenix and Round-Up.

Wow. VERY cool, and recorded by Chris Hardy, of all people. There's a name that's a blast from the past...

Would love to see this one emulated...

For some reason I thought this was already emulated, but I likely would have remembered since it is an interesting looking game. It is different gameplay unlike the other early 1980s space theme arcade games.

Yep. Resurfacing once again now that Android is emulated and Star Attack being noticed for first time.

>Would love to see this one emulated...

I could have seen myself playing Star Attack in arcades back in early 1980s because the gameplay looks interesting....although it still would have taken a backseat to Bosconian (my favorite early 1980s game until Xevious appeared a few years later).

o/t: In case you missed this thread from a couple months ago. I had forgotten gameplay details regarding Nintendo Shooting Trainer and I revised the Shooting Trainer posts to provide better description of operation of Shooting Trainer. I knew WG and ST had the gun sounds coming from a pcb, but I didn't know that Shooting Trainer had used external audio tapes to play the "glass shattering" sound effect whenever a bottle target image was hit.

I also forgot how Shooting Trainer would have some of the bottle images being tossed into the air during gameplay in which the player had to shoot at the target images similar to skeet shooting. I had to refer to a manual for Shooting Trainer to remember that portion of the gameplay.

Never left the scene. I'm still involved with Mamedev, just not so publically. I'm mainly working on my own Arcade and pcbs, and occasionally hacking games. (blog on my site http://www.junofirst.com)

I shall have to make it happen then.

Hopefully Haze will let me emulate it in peace instead of barging in and not so subtly complaining about not having a dump.

Sega System 24 Disks and Resurrection?

Good blog entry. imo Some how-to technique of preserving the diskettes should be documented and placed within MAME's source file src/mame/drivers/segas24.cpp

since websites or blog sites come and go even though various sites are Archived....but that seems to be a hit/miss case. If it is documented within MAME source, it has a better chance of not being lost imo.

Thanks if and when adding support for your version of Android and also Star Attack.

I hope Star Attack is on a Galaxian or Scramble board sans any of those epoxy blocks etc.
