Eeekk! DUMPED !!!

Eeekk!

New games added

Eeekk! [Andrew Welburn, Craig Anstett, smf]

Good work there with everyone involved. Kudos to whoever was able to get the pcb and have roms dumped from pcb.

I never saw nor played the game, but the name is memorable because one of the MAMEdevs from about 10 or 11 years earlier was trying to bid for a pcb, but lost the auction at the time. He still visits now and then so he will probably see it being supported.

Definitely! It's been near the top of my list of games I've been anxiously waiting to turn up, special thanks to the owner of the board and those whom helped him dump it!

BTW the UnMAMEd page is in serious need of updating!

>Definitely! It's been near the top of my list of games I've been anxiously waiting to turn up,

Fantasy list from 12/30/15

Most of what I'd love to see is undumped boards being found, ROM-dumped and preserved..I'm holding out hope for these someday:

Bouncer - the holiest of holy grails IMHO, we'll feel it on the Richter scale if that ever turns up.
Lost vectors like Vertigo, Battle Star, Hovercraft, Scramble and Oops.
Exidy protos like Snapper and Kreepy Krawlers
Marble Man: Marble Madness II - heard a promising rumor.

Any undumped DECO cassettes, especially Flashboy and The Tower.....Settle for Ocean to Ocean (Medal) (DECO Cassette MD) (No.10/Ver.6,US) at this time.

Vampire
Gray Out
Taito's Black Widow and Seafly
Universal's Mrs. Dynamite and Limbo
Eeek!
Cutey Fatty
Conquest / Journey
Predators
Zool
Gremlins
Surfer
Fire & Forget II

That's two entries off your list.

Yeah I've seen a few come off my personal list in recent years:

Angler Dangler
Manhattan
Delta Command (NY Warriors)
Aaargh!
And now of course Eeekk!

There's rumors of a Taito Black Widow and Vectorbeam Scramble board being around, I don't know who has them or what their intentions are, and supposedly a full Vertigo game is in the hands of a former Exidy employee but I guess he just wants to be left alone about it.

Also heard a rumor about the source code for Marble Man turning up, anyone hear anything about that?

>Vectorbeam Scramble board being around,

That one would be interesting to see in action.

>and supposedly a full Vertigo game is in the hands of a former Exidy employee but I guess >he just wants to be left alone about it.

Yep. I don't see anything happening with that.

>Also heard a rumor about the source code for Marble Man turning up, anyone hear anything about that?

This would be great in case source is available. That is what had to be done with a couple of the really hard-to-find 1970s era Atari games where source was compiled and pseudo roms were simulated to make source code act like it was running off of a pcb. The 4 player Dominoes was one of the Atari games.

Thank you.

Don't expect it to be there for some time. Updates on B. Tribble's unMAMEd site rarely happen these days.

For anyone looking for latest status of names, Undumped Wiki is the place to visit.

Examine the links that show the Taito game is already listed.

The alternate company name credits of Eeekk! is still a wanted item which is why alternate version is still on the wanted list section.

-
A version credited to Epos Corporation has been dumped but the version credited to "Magic Electronics" (Magic Electronics) (probably just a copyright screen change) has not been dumped.

Went away for Christmas, came back, saw this, and literally let out a massive cheer.

Congratulations and thanks to everyone who made this happen. This has been one of my most-wanted titles for many years, and I'm thrilled to see it finally included.

That is excellent news. I paid 500 bucks for a board on ebay and got stiffed back in the day.

There's at least one additional version with a different copyright screen (probably the only difference) due to the complicated history the licensor has.

Thanks, that was interesting.

I was worried EEEKK would be just a rehash of beastie but they changed it enough to be a different game. I don't think I like it as well as beastie, but it wasn't horrible.

Brought back some memories. I miss decrypting things.

Just following up on a rumour above:

Is there any news / developments on sourcing/securing Marble Man (Marble Madness 2)?

If the Marble Man ROMS have been dumped, I would like to donate $ towards it.

Excellent news that I'm now catching up with!
Eeekk! was at CAX 2016 and Craig had talked with me about loaning the PCB to Andrew.
Very cool to hear another rare title has made it Mame.

It's never going to be in MAME, or dumped in any public form. Stop asking.

Well, never say never.

It only requires one person to change his mind.
When that happens, MM2 will be released the next day.
Until then, no progress ever

Or for another PCB/cabinet to land in the hands of someone MAME-friendly, which does occasionally happen
