Looking for an old fav
#363544 - 02/15/17 11:36 AM

Hey, been a MAME fan for many years - something about those games you grow up with.

I'm after a game I used to play in the arcade - but not having luck. Thought someone may remember the name.

Car racing game. Top cabinet. 4 players. Each player had a steering wheel and pedals, you raced for items (I think fuel was one, car upgrades another - you could get these awesome space rocket attachments).

I've searched different strings in google + images and no luck so far. Spent so much money on this when I was growing up - need to play it again.

Cheers,
Littleman

Edit: Seems like there was one by SEGA, I think. I recall it because the music for upgrading your vehicles was the same as the console (story mode) version of Super Hang-On when you upgraded your bike.

Sega's HotRod is one that comes to mind, although yeah, if there was no scrolling then Super Off Road or Indy Heat although those were 3 player upright, not 4 player topdown.

Saying Space rockets, it can be the game "Badlands", and I suppose "Super sprint\championship sprint" is not the game since you can't use turbo boost, I remember..
