nice to see this done

I hooked up a while bunch of stuff (including the basic ST-020) a few years back when I converted things to devices, as well as adding the basic support for the differences in the ST-032 around the same time, but that's where I got stuck so I submitted what I had and left it.

It was the whole ID code / EEPROM stuff had me stumped back in the day, so I'm glad Luca was able to get to the bottom of all that and make the rest of the improvements needed to get it all up and running.

I imagine it was one of those times I didn't bother to credit myself at all given that Luca didn't mention that's where the basic 032 support came from, but I don't really mind too much, I've done quite a lot of work anonymously in the project, even recently; anybody who actually thinks I've been entirely inactive this time just hasn't realised the extent to which I've been working with some other people.

Another great blog entry by Luca that provides all the details of what it took to get the game emulated.

"Few will remember the Dark Horse bootleg I worked on in 2005.

At any rate, they never really were devoted enough attention to transition to a working state. I guess the fact that the bootleg worked took away some of the challenge, too."

I remember seeing the 2005 update.

imo difference between 2005 of then versus present: it took a lot of different things to fall into place first to get Jockey Club II emulated. MAME source architecture structure to treat chips as separate devices, an improved video render output method (in 2006) which included artwork layout design, various revisions roms including different hardware being dumped over the many years, and helpful Youtube video clips for reference.
