Little help adjusting a custom build quote

Gotta get this quote down to under $1000 for a friend, if anyone can make any suggestions... I like my specs here but it's a little beyond their budget.

Oh yeah, I know that cooler is not yet certified for LGA-1155.
Desired system will be used for modern gaming, mostly Steam games.

This doesn't lower the price any, but I HIGHLY recommend the Western Digital Green series drives. They're EXTREMELY quiet, run VERY cool, and unless you're doing heavy video streaming, you can't tell that they're 5400 RPM. I think the extra large cache is the key. I've been running one of these drives (a 500GB model) in my primary computer 24 hours a day for close to 3 years now. For me the lack of noise is the most important factor. It's almost completely silent. In fact, my power supply fan is actually louder. I have to remove the side of my case and put my ear less than 6 inches away from the HD to be able to hear anything, and then only when it's actively seeking data. Idle noise is non-existent.

You could save a little money and possibly end up with a MORE powerful system by getting TWO of these cards (for $159.98) and doing the CrossFireX thing. I don't know how well these cards really scale in crossfire, so a single card may be better.

That Samsung drive is one of the highest ranked drives there is right now. I have three in my tower. They are very quiet and very fast. I can't compare to a WD, but I don't regret buying them.

I bought one for my external enclosure after I knocked my previous 320GB external off the desk, and I like it. It survives high- and low-temperature extremes hanging out most of the time in my car as well. (Not that I have a car PC, just for storing it, it's usually in my PC repair kit in my trunk)
But that's the best you guys can do? I'm hoping I can drop the price a few hundred without sacrificing too much... still taking advice...

If you swap out the power supply, memory, and headset for the ones I suggested, you can trim off $95. I don't think you're going to see a "few hundred" without making some serious concessions on your CPU, video card, or monitor.
