Maybe I'm becoming an old fogey, but I remember a day when we called those things "videos", and things written in text "articles".
Also, his gripe with the "Philips CD-i console" is wildly inaccurate. CD-i was a minimum hardware specification, it was not a specific console itself, much the same as the 3DO was later: numerous hardware vendors could license the specification and make compatible players for that spec. As a result, while I'm sure a CD-i player or two suffers from this issue, it's patently false to say that this is something that affects the CD-i platform as a whole.
Furthermore, "the timekeeper chip is just a simple watch battery that needs replacing"? The hell? I mean I know that Larry has never really concerned himself much with accuracy, but damn.

AFAIK most of the problems of the CD-i came from software.

The controller design certainly didn't help. (fake 3-button where button 3 = buttons 1 + 2 together for example)
and I don't think there's a single piece of software without horrible input lag, which could be down to system libraries rather than choice, because I don't think any developer would ship something that bad by choice.
