HLSL settings question

Hi guys. It's been a while

Started messing around with MAME again after a long break, and was wondering if there's any way to save my HLSL settings from within MAME's in-game UI, and have it write to a preset ini file on the fly?

I often always end up modifying something I'm not happy with from within the game, but upon exiting it doesn't save. Is there a way to mitigate this?

No, there isn't a way, I think there used to be a good few years back but it was removed.
