Just got hold of this......
And was curious to see what the rest of you think....
Looking in the root folder we see that the Roms, apart from the 'arcade' prefix have pretty much the same naming as MAME..
However, the dumps inside the roms are quite different...
Mame 'Dragon Breed'
Irem Arcade Hits 'Dragon Breed'
Do you think MAME should use these naming schemes, seeing as how they come from an official IREM package?....

No, our dumps are how they came off a real arcade board and with proper labels and pcb location, and that's as good as it gets as far as we are concerned. Theirs is probably taking the MAME dump and combining files together to make them easier to work with.

Not, MAME should continue to use naming schemes of original arcade pcbs.

Nope. MAME's dumps are named the way they are to facilitate repairing actual PCBs.

I'm just wondering why it's in the News Submissions board.

I'd be more worried about HQ2x hardware and software; afaik all the hq2x code on the net atm is gpl licensed; the "hq2x hardware" code on the net that I've heard of (not seen) is GLSL based and isn't truly hq2x.
BUT: That doesn't mean the developers couldn't have rewritten all the code themselves.

The IAH roms are much larger size. Wonder what the difference is ?
