I swear I tried everything.
I have a HP board (FIC VI31) that boots to the Award BootBlock bios and claims the bios has a wrong checksum, i.e., it got corrupted. Reading through various things and obtaining all equipment, nothing I tried seems to get me past the process of this:
Code:
AWARD BootBlock BIOS V1.0
BIOS Checksum wrong Checking Drive A... INSERT SYSTEM BOOT DISK
If I have no floppy, the bios keeps asking for a disk. If I have one in, the same happens If I have a 1.44mb floppy formatted with a bootable dos, it says the same, but pressing enter returns:
Code:
System Halted.
If I have all required files (DOS, autoexec, flasher, bios) the same happens. If I have a 720kb floppy with the same files, it returns the same.
It seems like it just cannot read the floppy controller. The board doesn't have any ISA ports either.
Short of buying a flashed BIOS i'm skint for any last ideas. To make matters worse, I have only the floppy till end of tonight..
