From what I've ever read on these boards, you need several orders of magnitude higher CPUs to emulate current games (1999 and later).
For example: Take Gradius 4 (1999). It's only been until very recently that CPUs were powerful enough to run that game at 100% in MAME. NFL Blitz was also in that category until recently, as well.
That's where I get the time frame from. It was more of a general statement, as it related to CPU power.
I don't consider myself the Oracle of Delphi or Nostradamus.
