So I've decided that I want to buy a real arcade PCB. This is probably a folly on my part and I'm likely going to go down a long road of wasting money and time :-p But if I'm going to do that, I want to do it at least semi-right.
However, I'm not sure where or to whom I should ask this question, so I wanted to start here.
If I bought a Japanese WWF Wrestlefest PCB, and if I attained compatible eeproms, would it be possible to burn the US set to said roms and swap the chips on the PCB? I'm thinking that there may be some GAL protection or what not (and, come to think of it, I probably should read the MAME source), but I just wanted to ask if anyone knew if it was possible with this specific board or if there was a way to "try it" in MAME (i.e., can I make a hacked together set and see if it runs in MAME as a trial for if it would run on a real board).
