Call me another exception. Arcade all the way, though I do remember the NES version of the music more oddly enough.
I might have felt the same way about Rygar, faults and all, had I originally played that one as an arcade game but for that one I was introduced to the NES version first.
How about Ninja Gaiden? The NES version is better than the arcade but I was actually a little disappointed in it because it was so different. I did eventually get the original in the Amiga game Shadow Warriors so it was no big deal.
