Flawed comparison. I didn't say you need to know how git represents revision information, how it collects and compresses shards, or what the wire formats for remote operations look like. I just said you need a basic understanding of how the tool works. This is like understanding how the position of the steering wheel controls the car's direction of travel, and how the accelerator and brake pedals are used to control speed. I sure as hell hope you understand how that works before driving, or you won't be able to react to unexpected situations and you'll be a hazard to everyone.

It's amazing how it works. A person doesn't want to learn to use a tool but feels entitled to hand-holding, then goes on to insult the person who actually gave them an answer. Oh, and I am a dev on this project, and I actually contribute. I'm at about 25,000 lines over the past month. How much have you contributed lately?
