There is (was ?) a MAME Benchmarking web site. I've just checked the 3-4 (old to probably ancient) links I had and none work now.

A quick search of these forums for "Benchmark" revealed this fairly recent thread which gives you some benchmarks for some of the more demanding games at that time (May-2015):

Or failing that, why not run benchmarks yourself on your own PC ?

* I have seen benchmark scripts posted here from time to time.

* (And way back in 2003 I wrote a simple Windows GUI program to automate MAME benchmarking of whatever games you selected and then generated a tab separated report that you could paste into a spreadsheet - I haven't used it in about ~10 years, but I think this program would probably need updating so it could use MAME's latest command line switches ??).
